The novels have been adapted into nine TV films. The first eight films were commissioned by CBS, and aired from 2005 to 2012. A ninth film was picked up by the Hallmark Channel, and aired on October 18, 2015.
Unfortunately for fans of Jesse Stone, Lost in Paradise could easily be the final installment of the series. It has been eight years since the last film's release, with no official indication that a tenth is in production other than Selleck's assurance that the project will happen.
CBS chose not to make any more films after the eighth film Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt (2012) for demographic reasons, despite relatively high ratings and a loyal fanbase. Tom Selleck waited three years for the right offer to be made, and wanted to maintain the production quality set in the first eight films.
Although 'Night Passage' (2006) is the second of the Jesse Stone films, after 'Stone Cold' (2005), it is actually the prequel to 'Stone Cold' so can be watched first.
The Jesse Stone films have aired on CBS and on the Hallmark Channel over in the US, but unfortunately, fans on this side of the Atlantic can only rent or buy all nine movies on Amazon Prime Video as there are no streaming options available at this time.
From a motel in Missouri, he calls his ex-wife, actress Jenn Stone, with whom he still talks regularly despite their divorce. Jesse's drinking problem became serious after he discovered that she was having an affair with her producer.
A key element in all the movies is Jesse's relationship with his dog Reggie. But Reggie died -- as did Joe the Dog who played him -- and "Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise" opens with the chief of the Paradise Police Department sitting at his grave, which is the reverse of how Jesse found Reggie.
Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost is the seventh in a series of nine television films based on Jesse Stone and other characters of Parker's Jesse Stone novels. The film first aired on the CBS television network on May 22, 2011.
